Bengaluru: Fisheries Minister S. Angara has announced that the Fisheries Department will hold ‘Inland Fish Producers’ Conference – 2022′ at Gayatri Vihar, Palace Grounds on Sunday October 16.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the convention. Central Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Dr. L. Murugan and others will be present. Over 10,000 people are expected to participate in the conference, which is open to the public. Four workshops will be held at the conference, he added.

The conference will help inland fishing farmers to get involved in fisheries farming. The Central Government has allocated Rs. 725 Crore for five years. The Department has allocated Rs. 760 Crore, he said and added that the grant has already been utilised in three years.
