As Bengaluru grapples with a severe water crisis, hotels and resorts in the city are gearing up to host pool parties and rain dances for parched citizens during the upcoming Holi festivities. According to a report by Moneycontrol, the Bengaluru page of BookMyShow features a lineup of major Holi parties, with many offering access to pools along with food, drinks, and DJ music, with ticket prices starting as low as ₹49.
In Electronic City, Meenakshi Resort is set to host the “Rangila Utsav,” offering the “biggest pool access” and rain dance from 11 am to 6 pm on March 24-25, with ticket prices starting at ₹99. Meanwhile, Hotel Leroy Grand in Yashwanthpur is hosting the “Holigram pool party,” touted as the city’s only rooftop open-air pool party, from March 23 to March 26, with tickets starting at ₹99.
Lago Palms Resort in Bettadasanapura will host the “Desi Holi Vol 08 – Open Air – Pool Holi Festival” from March 23 to 25, featuring a “huge rain dance zone” and pool party, with ticket prices starting at ₹199. Aloft Hotel in Whitefield will organize the “biggest” Holi festival from March 23, offering “free unlimited colors and rain dance” with ticket prices starting from ₹49.
Additionally, Radha Hometel in Whitefield will hold a pre-Holi party from March 24-25, featuring “free colors and rain dance setup,” with tickets starting from ₹99. However, amid these celebrations, several reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water plants in the city, both public and private, are facing operational issues due to water unavailability, as reported by The Hindu.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up over 600 water plants across the city to provide subsidized drinking water, starting at ₹5 for 20 liters. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar claimed on Thursday that there is no water crisis in Bengaluru, stating that arrangements have been made to address the situation, including the identification of alternative water sources and the takeover of tankers.
