Bengaluru: H. D. Thammaiah, who has already quit the BJP, will join the Congress Party in Bengaluru on February 19 along with a large number of his supporters.

Thammaiah has announced, “I am happy that even after leaving the BJP, I have got unprecedented support from the people. Thammaiah announced that he will officially join the Congress Party at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office in Bengaluru on Sunday February 19.”

He addressed a large number of fans, supporters, well-wishers and friends at the ‘Adhyaksha Sankalp Yatra’ organised by Thammaiah’s fan club. “I have served in various capacities in the BJP for the last 20 years and have been forced to resign from the BJP as the two have hurt me a lot and I am joining the Congress Party for my future political growth,” he said.

“I have worked day and night with sincerity and integrity to build the BJP. I decided to quit the party because I was harassed and hurt by a person from the RSS and a political leader in a way I was treated in the Party,” he said.

“I am active in the BJP Party in the District and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is very dear to me. I have used it for the service of the public without misusing it for selfish purposes,” he said.

MLA C. T. Ravi describes Ramayana and Mahabharata very well. Recalling the squirrel’s service during the construction of The Ram Setu, H. D. Thammaiah said that such distress is still happening to many in the BJP. In a way, there is an atmosphere of fear to speak against the MLAs,” he said.

He said, “The Hitler culture of the MLAs and RSS move hurt me so much. He alleged that no contract work or real estate was done in the politics of the City Council for 23 years and that several contractors had already left the village due to their instigation. He said. I could have contested from KJP 10 years ago. The behaviour of some in the BJP changed when they realised that I had worked loyally for the party’s organisation and was seeking a ticket. But I am happy that even after coming out, I have received unprecedented people’s support and I will join the Congress Party and not indulge in selfish politics and participate in alleviating the sufferings of the people,” he said.
