Bengaluru: ‘Final list of shortlisted teachers by next week’

Bengaluru:  The list of candidates who have been shortlisted for the recruitment of 15,000 government primary school teachers will be announced by the end of next week, said Education Minister B. C. Nagesh on Saturday September 24.

Over 48,000 government schools in Karnataka have a total of 40,000 teacher vacancies. To fill the shortage, more than 32,159 guest teachers have been recruited, including 27,000 from government primary schools and 5,159 from government high schools.

The CET held on 21 and 22 May saw 54,342 eligible candidates qualify for recruitment of 15,000 teachers. Selection is being done on the basis of subjects, merit, and roster. English, Social Science, “Maths and Science,” and Biological Sciences teachers will be recruited for classes six to eight.
