Bengaluru: Fuel adjustment costs for ESCOMs have been revised by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has changed the Fuel Adjustment Cost (FAC) of all ESCOMs for six months starting on October 1, 2022, in response to a steep increase in the price of coal. Allowing the applications submitted by all ESCOMs, the KERC in its order dated September 19, 2022, permits BESCOM to collect 43 paise of FAC per unit sale of energy from October 2022 to March 2023 from the customers.
According to the KERC (Fuel Cost Adjustment Charges) 2013 regulations, the commission permits ESCOMs to include fuel cost adjustment charges per unit of sale in all energy bills that are issued to customers beginning on October 1, 2022, and ending on March 31, 2023, stated Mahantesh Bilagi, managying Director of BESCOM.
