Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took part in the midnight flag raising and the cultural events organised as part of Independence Amrita Mahotsava at Malleswaram Barangay in the City.

Minister for Higher Education, Information Technology and Broadcasting, Science and Technology Dr.  C. N. Ashwath Narayan was present.

Various dance companies performed traditional dance and songs as part of the cultural programmes, and renowned Hyderabadi film singer Mangali (Satyavati) also performed live.
