Bengaluru: The capital city of the state, has been honored with the title of the ‘Best RRR (reduce, reuse, and recycle) City’ in the ‘My Life, My City’ campaign organized by the directorate of municipal administration.
The state government acknowledged Bengaluru as the most outstanding city in implementing RRR practices, and in recognition of their efforts, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials were presented with an award and certificate by the municipal administration minister, Rahim Khan, during a ceremony on Thursday. During the campaign, BBMP established 49 centers across the city to collect six different types of RRR materials.
The citizens actively participated by contributing plastic carry bags, toys, newspapers, old books, and electronic items to these centers between May 15 and June 5. The primary objective of this initiative was to foster environmentally friendly practices and encourage the adoption of sustainable lifestyles within the community.
