Bengaluru: Former Minister and Congress leader Kimmane Ratnakar on Wednesday July 20 said that the Union Government’s imposition of GST on essentials as well as rising prices have made life miserable for the common man.
Speaking to mediapersons he said that the NDA government is trying to cash in by stirring communal sentiments and fuelling clashes in the name of caste and religion and ignoring the interests of the poor.
He said tax is being levied on all things, except air and the Indian rupee’s value relative to the US dollar has fallen dramatically.
“What’s happening in Sri Lanka should be a lesson for us. Leaders of the BJP are trying to disrupt the peace in the nation. The BJP wants to change the Constitution, whereas the Congress supports the secularism ideal,” he asserted.
