Bengaluru: BJP Central Leadership’s decision not to appoint Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa as the Head of the Party Campaign Committee came as a big setback for him.
According to sources, this Committee was proposed under the pressure from Yediyurappa who wanted to lead it. However, the party decided against his wish.
According to the BJP sources, generally in no BJP ruled States CMs are given the charge of leading the campaign. Strange strategies are followed in State. Indirectly the party is trying to clip the wings of BSY,” explained a BJP leader.
Meanwhile, exclusion of Energy, Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar has also raised eye brows. According to sources, Sunil Kumar who is eyeing CM post in the next term is now disliked by another Party Leader and MLA C.T. Ravi and his friends.
“On the behest of Ravi’s pressure, Sunil Kumar was kept out,” added sources.
