Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Health Officer was killed in a road accident on T. Chowdaiah Road near Sankey Lake under Sadashivanagar Traffic Police Station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Prashanth Nayak (27), a native of Arakalagud. Prashanth Nayak, a resident of J. P. Nagara was a Health Officer in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). He was on his way home from Sadashivanagara at around 12.40 pm on Monday December 26. On the way, they were driving at high speed near Gokak Park from Bashyam Circle towards Maramma Circle and lost control and hit the bike footpath. Prashanth Nayak, who fell to the ground due to the accident, suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.

The Traffic Police informed that prima facie it appears that over-speeding and reckless driving led to the accident. A case has been registered at Sadashivanagar Traffic Police Sation in this regard.
