Bengaluru: Electric bus service between Bengaluru and Mysuru will begin on Monday January 16.
According to sources, electric bus services from Bengaluru will be extended to Davanagere, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Madikeri, and Virajpet in a month.
Under the FAME-2 initiative of the Union Government, KSRTC has begun intercity electric bus services for the first time. KSRTC will get 50 buses from Olectra Greentech Ltd. on a GCC (gross cost contract) model, with the first vehicle running on the Bengaluru-Mysuru route.
The other 49 buses will travel in various directions between Mysuru, Madikeri, Virajpet, Davangere, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru.
