Bengaluru: The Kempegowda International Airport will get as many as 1,700 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Personnel. The deployment was sanctioned by the Central Government as part of an anti-terror cover to the Airport.
This was approved after the Security and Intelligence Agencies’ security audit was carried out in the wake of the new Terminal-2 began operations.
Presently, the CISF at the Airport’s Terminal-1 is engaged in frisking passengers, scanning their cabin luggage and providing a comprehensive armed anti-hijack and counter-terrorist cover. Also, the current manpower is in addition to 3,500 men and women already deployed at the Airport, stated reliable sources.
