Bengaluru: As many as 750 leaders have applied for Congress tickets for the 2023 State Assembly election.
91-year-old Shyamanur Shivashankarappa is the senior-most to apply for the party ticket while Aishwarya Mahadev is the youngest leader to apply. She is 27 years old. She is seeking a party ticket from KR Nagar.
According to sources, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is yet to submit his application. He is visiting Kolar today to gauge the public mood.
The Congress had asked the ticket aspirants to apply with a DD of Rs.2 lakh. The party received three folds of applications which according to leaders is an encouraging sign for the party which is eyeing a return to power in the State.
