Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be taking up a voter registration drive from November 15 to 30. Citizens who wish to get their names included or deleted may do so during the drive. Those aged between 18 and 19 can get their names added to the list.

BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad told media persons here on Saturday that the city has 1.27 crore voters — 66.37 lakh men and 61.08 lakh women. He said 67.5 per cent of the total population of the city is eligible to vote.

Around 88,000 names of voters, who are now deceased, have been deleted from the list. In K.R. Puram constituency alone, over 12,000 such names had been removed. He said the voter’s list will be published on Monday. Citizens may submit objections, if any, to the nearest BBMP office.
