
Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will hold a special Covid-19 vaccination drive inside its limits on June 21.
BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta convened a virtual meeting a day before the campaign and instructed the concerned staff on the preparations on Monday June 20.
According to the sources, he informed authorities that, “The eligible beneficiaries must be vaccinated by establishing micro plans in each zone under the BBMP.More camps should be established, and teams should be organised to vaccinate more individuals.”
He further stated that the local people should be notified about vaccination sites, Covid norms must be followed in these sites, and everyone should wear a mask and maintain social distance.
Beneficiaries above the age of 45 will be given priority. Vaccination of beneficiaries who have not yet received their second dose, vaccination of health workers and frontline workers, eligible beneficiaries identified by the government between the ages of 18 and 44, and frontline workers who have worked in the health sector will be carried out in accordance with the government’s instructions.
Officials from the BBMP have also been instructed to visit the site and inspect the vaccination process.
