Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has prepared a master plan for the overall development of Krishna Rajendra Market in Bengaluru, according to Mayor G Padmavathi.
Speaking to mediapersons during a visit to the KR Market to inspect the process of cleaning at the market, Mayor Padmavathi said the BBMP officials have prepared the master plan for the development of the KR Market. “The master plan will be implemented after availing the state government’s nod for the development of the KR Market. As per the master plan, the KR Market will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 28 crore,” Padmavathi said.
She said a supervisory committee would be constituted to oversee the cleaning of KR Market on a daily basis. “The committee will have local corporator, MLA and BBMP officials. The objective of the committee is to ensure cleanliness at the KR Market,” she said.
It may be recalled, the mayor had visited the KR Market on last Saturday and participated in the cleaning programme. Prior to this, the mayor had ordered the BBMP Commissioner to deduct 15 days wages of the BBMP employees for neglecting the cleaning at the KR Market.
