Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is investigating the multi-crore IMA scam, arrested BBMP nominated corporator Syed Mujahid in connection with the fraud.

Mujahid is the JDS’s nominated corporator in the BBMP.

It has been alleged that the main accused in the case, founder-owner of IMA Group Mohammed Mansoor Khan was in touch with Mujahid till just before he went absconding. “Both of them even met inside the airport,” said SIT sources and added that the two were in touch through WhatsApp.

According to the sources, the arrest of Syed Mujahid is expected to create more embarrassment for several JDS and Congress leaders as he was always seen with them in public.
