Bengaluru: Taking a jibe at Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, former CM and Bharatiya Janata Party leader S M Krishna said that there was no back door entry or front door entry in his political career. How H D Kumaraswamy became chief minister overnight taking BJP support, is called as back door politics, he taunted CM.

Speaking to reporters, Krishna said that earlier, during his time, there was a coalition government as is the situation with the Janata Dal (S) and he was to become the chief minister. But he was sent to the Centre and later made governor. He termed this move responsible for his inactiveness in state politics and his subsequent exit from Congress.

When questioned why he was against H D Devegowda whom he had earlier helped to come to Mandya, Krishna sarcastically answered that this was a Lok Sabha election and not a ‘Vokkaliga Sangha’ election.

The country comes first and all the rest later, he said.

SM Krishna was the former CM of Karnataka who had won 132 seats in 1999 for Congress party.
