Bengaluru: Yediyurappa said his son would camp in Mysuru to strengthen the party’s base, despite ruling out fielding Vijayendra from Basavakalyan, where an assembly bypoll is scheduled for April 17 along with Maski assembly segment and Belagavi Lok Sabha segment.

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa outlined a larger role for his son, BJP state vice-president B Y Vijayendra, in shattering the Congress and JD(S) stranglehold in the old Mysuru area. Yediyurappa said his son will camp in Basavakalyan, where an assembly bypoll is scheduled for April 17 along with the Maski assembly segment and the Belagavi Lok Sabha segment.

CM said Vijayendra would camp in Mysuru after the bypolls are over.
