Bengaluru: The Azim Premji University students have extended their support to students in State who have been harassed following Hijab row.
The students in a letter signed by them have stated, “We stand in solidarity with these students who have been harassed by mobs and denied education based on their attires (religious or otherwise). Such incidents have the potential of creating institutionalised discrimination based on gender, religion, caste, etc. We strongly condemn these unfortunate acts.”
They called on other student communities and stated, “In these gloomy and unprecedented times, we believe that our voice and collectiveness will matter.”
