Bengaluru: Foreigners visiting India take a special liking for Indian transport vehicles, food, attire and so on…But foreign cricketers visit India more often than not and with the advent of Indian Premier League (IPL ) cricket some have made Indian cities their home almost.
Former Australian cricket captain Michael clarke on a tour of India as a television commentator took a special liking for the Indian auto rickshaw and enjoyed driving it too!
Clarke has a special emotional connect with Bengaluru mainly because he made his debut in the state capital and later went onto score 151 runs in 2003.
The Australian team also had their first practice session at M Chinnaswamy stadium. The second cricket test match is scheduled to start on March 4, with hosts trailing by 1-0 in the series. Like Clarke, former Australian cricketers Steve Waugh and Mathew Hayden took a special liking to Calcutta and Chennai respectively.
