Bangalore: November 19, 2013 was the darkest day of her life when she was attacked inside an ATM kiosk in Bengaluru. Even though she has now recovered fully, victim Jyothi Uday still has the wounds of attack in her mind. Police took more than three years to arrest accused Madhukar Reddy who was arrested on February 4 in a village of Chittur district of Andhra on February 4, 2017. This ATM attack incident is now part of a Kannada movie called Shuddi.

On Wednesday film crew had arranged a special screening of the movie for the family members of Jyothi Uday at Cinepolis on Magadi road of the city.

So, how was it for Ms Jyoti to watch the scene which was based on her life’s cruel experience? Speaking to media, Ms Jyoti said, “The movie has been shot very well. All the sections including story, screenplay and cinematography has been excellent. I personally feel that this is a good message oriented movie and a must watch. I request everyone, especially women not to miss the movie.”

According to Adarsh Eshwarappa, director of the movie who has also written the screen play, the ATM scene had been adapted in his movie in a bid to create awareness on such gruesome incidents. “The plot of the film highlights the crime against women faced in Indian society. The film which was released recently has been widely appreciated since then. Another highlight of the movie is that major portion of the film has been shot with a handheld camera while the rest have been shot with the tripods,” he said.
Sandalwood stars Nivedhitha, Lauren Spartano and Amrutha Karagada are acted in this movie.
