Bengaluru: Fearing that an astrologer’s prediction may turn true, a woman committed suicide after killing her two children. The incident has been reported from Vishweshwarayya layout of Chikkaballapura city.

According to the Chikkaballapura police who are investigating the case, Usha (32), wife of Ashwattaraju, a high school teacher had met an astrologer recently.

“The astrologer predicted bad time for her two children- Shanvi (3) and Shamant (8). Fearing that the predictions may become true, she first killed the kids by serving them food laced with sleeping pills and then she too consumed the pills. The three were found dead inside the house.” said police.

“The incident came to light when Ashwattaraju called his wife from his native village Shidlaghatta. When she didn’t pick the call, he called her brother, who is a resident of Chikkaballapura. When he rushed to the home he saw the dead bodies. Immediately he alerted the police,” informed the police.

“We have recovered a death note from the house. An investigation is on,” concluded police.
