Bengaluru: BJP candidate for RR Nagar Muniratna is likely to strike a massive victory and hit hat trick this time, while Sira BJP candidate Rajesh Gowda too is inching towards a mssive victory.

Muniratna had garnered 35,526 votes in the 15th round of the counting. There are total of 25 rounds of counting here in RR Nagar and the BJP house is already in a festive mood.

Though it was believed that Congress candidate Kusuma H is likely to give a neck to neck fight here, Muniratna managed to maintain a lead in all rounds of counting.

The RR Nagar by-polls was presented as a litmus test for KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar mainly because the BJP had fielded Muniratna, a turncoat MLA from the Congress party.

Once friends, Muniratna-DKShi had turned hostile and sources said that the latter wanted to teach a lesson to Muniratna by trouncing him in the by polls.

Meanwhile, the same situation prevailed in Sira too, where BJP candidate Rajesh Gowda maintained a lead over Congress candidate TB Jayachandra and the JDS candidate Ammajamma.

Gowda bagged 47,608 votes in 14 round of counting, leavng behind Congress’ TB Jayachandra with 43,811 votes and JDS Ammajamma 23,822 votes.

However, when the trends started emerging, DK Shi said that the Congress will bow down to the verdict given by the voters.
