Bengaluru: DCM and home minister Dr G Parameshwar has written a letter to Higher Education Minister GT Devegowda, requesting him to appoint only academicians to the university syndicates in the state.

In the letter, the DCM has stated that the syndicate members must be appointed through a committee.

“As a former education minister and a person who is managing a number of educational institutes I feel that there must be some radical changes in the state higher education sector. One of the measures, which is also needed of the hour is the appointment of academicians through a experts committee to the university syndicate,” he stated.

“The committee should shortlist the names for the syndicates to ensure that only learned persons become part of the highest decision-making body of the universities,” he stated.
