Another U turn: Govt permits Ganeshotsava celebrations in public

Bengaluru: Under pressure from the public and the right wing organisations, the state government decided to allow public Ganeshotsava celebrations this year, amid Covid 19 crisis.

However, no permission has been given for procession.

As per the new guidelines, in public places Ganesha idols upto 4 feet is allowed and 20 devotees can be allowed to visit the Ganesha pandals at a time.

No cultural events are permitted this year in any Ganesha pendals. One Ganesha in a ward/ village will be encouraged. Prohibition on usage of PoP idols continue.

CM BS Yediyurappa announced the new guidelines through a series of tweets.
