Another drunk driver caught, seventh case in a week

Bengaluru: The city traffic police, who have started a special drive against school buses, caught one more driver in an inebriated state on Thursday, September 1. This is the seventh such case in the last one week.

The R.T. Nagar traffic police caught the driver of Vivekananda School van in Yelahanka, who was ferrying children to school. The driver Sheik Mukhtiyar was caught near CBI junction. Mukhtiyar was subjected to alcometre test which revealed that the alcohol content in his body was 78 per cent which was over permissible limits.

Mukhtiyar was then detained by the police. His driving licence was also seized. The school management was informed and was asked to send another vehicle to ferry the children to school.

A case has been registered.
