Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a mother killed her teenaged son before attempting suicide here on May 31.

Meena, wife of TV anchor Chandan who died recently in a road accident, slit her 13-year-old son Tushar’s throat and tried to commit suicide on Thursday.

Meena used to live in her relative’s house in Doddaballapur and on Thursday morning she went to her home on the pretext of taking a bath. Her relatives were worried when she didn’t return even after a long time. They found her at her residence writhing in pain after consuming acid. Though the relatives admitted her to the nearest hospital, her condition is critical.

Meena and Chandan were relatives and had married 18 years ago. According to their relatives, Meena was depressed by the death of Chandan who had died in a car accident last week on National Highway- 4.

A case has been registered in Doddaballapur Police Station.
