An altercation between two neighbours over auto-rickshaw parking in Bengaluru’s Kumaraswamy Layout on Sunday stirred social media, but police have clarified that the dispute does not have communal undertones.
A video of the confrontation involving families of Kumar and Syed Taha went viral, attracting a crowd of onlookers. Despite speculation, authorities emphasized that the incident did not stem from communal differences.
Addressing concerns, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) stated that no communal angle was evident, with the altercation occurring amidst the presence of bystanders, including those attending Namaz nearby.
Additionally, the police confirmed their intent to file a complaint regarding the incident, aiming to address the matter effectively.
Earlier, outgoing BJP MP Pratap Simha had shared the video, alleging communal elements. However, he later retracted the statement, and the post was deleted after bringing it to the attention of Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda.
