Bengaluru: After 18 years of the Dr. Rajkumar abduction case, the verdict is now out. The Erode District Court has acquitted all the nine accused in the case on Tuesday, September 25.
The court gave its verdict since the prosecution failed in proving the accusation and producing enough proof before the court.
During the court proceedings on the case, the Dr. Rajkumar family too was unable to provide necessary evidence of the abduction based on which Justice K Mani gave the verdict saying that Veerappan’s gang members are innocent.
After having investigated the case based on 42 pieces of evidence, 52 records, 31 guns, and tools used to commit the crime, there were no proper pieces of evidence to prove the case.
Dr. Rajkumar was abducted 18 years ago, from his farm house situated in his village at the Karnataka border. Veerappan had abducted Dr. Raj for 108 days and then released.
Veerappan was shot dead by the Tamilnadu Special Task Force Police. After two years from the incident, in the year 2006 Dr. Raj had breathed his last.
