Bengaluru: AirAsia offloaded eight passengers after they clashed with the cabin crew of the Bengaluru-Pune flight on Monday, September 30 afternoon.
The deplaned passengers belonged to a Rajasthani family who claimed to be the kin of a state minister.
When the incident got out of hand, other passengers began recording the fight on their smartphones. However, the cabin crew asked the passengers to delete the video footage, according to a report published by TOI.
Commenting on the incident, an AirAsia spokesperson said, “AirAsia India confirms that a group of passengers travelling onboard 15-1426 operating between Bengaluru and Jaipur, were offloaded for mistreating our cabin crew. AirAsia India reiterates that we place the safety and security of our passengers, staff and aircraft above all.”
Sources speaking to TOI said that the incident was triggered due to one of the family members requesting a change of seats.
The flight took off only after the eight passengers involved in the incident were deplaned, resulting in a one hour delay.
