Bangalore: The website of the Indian carrier Air India refused to load even as the company went ahead issuing press releases stating availability of promotional fares of Rs. 100 per ticket exclusive of taxes as a part of the celebrations marking its first ‘Air India Day’ when it merged with Indian Airlines.

The site has remained inaccessible from the past few hours, probably due to the high load on its server arising from enthusiastic people trying to book tickets. The site showed differing error messages each time, ranging from “The service is unavailable.” to “Sorry for the inconvenience. It seems that the page you were trying to reach doesn’t exist anymore, or maybe it has just moved.Go to Home”
