Bengaluru: Thippegondanahalli, a small village here shot to fame after the two actors of a film named ‘Masthigudi’ met their tragic end while shooting the climax of the film. However, the news that the spot where the two lost their lives is haunted is yet again bringing the focus back at the village.
On November 7, 2016 Uday and Anil, two actors assaying negative role in the film landed in watery grave while shooting for the film after they fell into Thippegondanahalli reservoir. The incident had shocked the entire state and raised questions at the safety and precautionary measures being used by the film crew while performing daredevil stunts. The decayed bodies of the two were retrieved from the Thippegondanahalli reservoir on November 10 and the families of the two had performed last rites as per traditions.
However, several months after the incident, the locals of Thippegondanahalli say that the spot is haunted. With this, the tourists have stopped thronging the spot.
Thippegondanahalli sees a surge in tourists every weekends, but ever since the rumours of the ghosts of Anil and Uday haunting the place spread, the inflow of tourists has dropped drastically.
The locals say that in the cold of the night, they hear noises-wailing, mourning, crying and weird noises, which they attribute to the death of the two actors. Some say that they had heard such noises in the afternoons as well, specifically as if someone is trying to swim out of the water.
