Bangalore : The single phase Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka are cover and the voters have decided the fate of the candidates. With the results sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines, now it’s time for speculations and calculations.
On the other hand, the candidates who were busy campaigning all these days are now a relieved lot while people have come out of the election hang ovre and back to duty. Though there is nearly a month for the counting day, leaders of various parties are optimistic of a win.
The major political parties-the Congress, BJP and JD(S) are already claiming that they would win maximum seats. According to one source, the Congress may win 12 to 15 seats, the BJP may get 10 to 14 seats and the JD(S) three to five seats,
KPCC Chief Dr G Parameshwar says his party will win 20 seats and so is the argument of former deputy CM KS Eshwarappa. On the other hand former CM HD Kumaraswamy is optimistic that the JD(S) would win eight seats. Meanwhile, KPCC chief is alleging that the BJP and JD(S) have been into a secret pact to defeat the Congress.
Amid the speculations, one will have to wait till May 16 when the EVMs are opened and the counting is done.
