Bengaluru: Actress Sanjana Garlani, who is now arrested for her alleged links with the drug mafia had reportedly lost her entire savings in the I Monetary Advisory (IMA) scam.
She revealed the details of her loss to the police recently at the time of investigation, say sources.
Sanjana invested huge amount in IMA based on the advise made by her friends. But the company didn’t return her the promised amount.
According to the sources, Sanjana has accounts in 11 banks. “Police are investigating whether she was involved in any kind of foreign transactions or not,” said sources.
It may be recalled that a private firm called I Monetary Advisory Group floated a ponzi scheme offering investors returns to the tune of 36 to 64 per cent on investments, claiming that the scheme was in line with Sharia principles of Islam.
