Bengaluru: “The Prajakeeya party has been started to bring a complete change in the political system. I could have contested the election but Prajakeeya wants to pass on the power to the hands of the people. Hence we have made labourers contest the election from our party,” said actor Upendra.
Speaking while campaigning for his party in Ramanagara, Upendra said, “The political situation will change if people come out with new and positive ideas. The idea of Prajakeeya is to bring a positive change in the political system by the citizens themselves. But people will be helpless until money and muscle dominate politics”.
“The British have left India but the corrupt political leaders have taken their place. Prajakeeya is a platform for the people. I am not contesting in the election as I have the responsibility of campaigning for 28 candidates of the party. I will contest in the next Lok Sabha election. I am a citizen first, after that an actor”, added Upendra.
“I have consulted and discussed with several political leaders before launching Prajakeeya. There is a lot of corruption in the current system and the people did not have any hope. Now with the launch of Prjakeeya, a new hope has blossomed among the people and they will extend their support and help us win the election. Our intention is to hand over the power to the people,” said Upendra.
“We are not going to come up with an election manifesto, that we want the people to prepare. The candidates have been given targets just like private companies do to their employees. People are intelligent and they will elect the right candidates,” he added.
