Bengaluru: Three children of a primary school in south Bengaluru suffered minor injuries on Friday morning following an accidental blast in a classroom of the school.

The blast occurred at the Sri Sadhguru Sai Baba school at Roopena Agrahara near Madivala after a few boys connected detonators they had found to a power socket in the class.

The boys claimed to have found the material in a waste dump near the school. Police suspect that the electric detonator material was dumped in a garbage bin by persons who may have been using it for illegal quarrying.

Three students of class four of the school were injured. The detonator was found by a class four student of the school.

“There was a huge sound in the classroom and the teachers panicked and called the police,” a teacher at the school R Vasanthamma said.
The blast occurred around at 1 pm and brought the entire state bomb squad to the spot.

The children suffered minor injuries, the school headmaster Jayarajappa said.
