ACB nabs revenue inspector while accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe

Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday trapped a revenue inspector while accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe from an agriculturist for doing an official favour.

According to a release from the ACB, S G Suresh, a revenue inspector of Bangalore South Taluk was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from an agriculturist. The ACB sources said the agriculturist had purchased agricultural land near Kengeri and sought transfer of khata of the land from Bengaluru South Taluk.

The application for khata transfer was sent to Kengeri Nadakacheri from Bengaluru South Taluk office for revenue inspector’s report. Suresh, revenue inspector demanded Rs 3 lakh from the agriculturist  for preparing the report. The complainant paid Rs 1 lakh to Suresh a few days ago. The ACB sleuths laid a trap while Suresh accepting the remaining amount of Rs 2 lakh from the agriculturist.

A case has been registered under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 against the revenue inspector and the accused has been arrested by the ACB sleuths.
