Bengaluru: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch its ambitious Mission 5000 programme, targeting 5,000 wards. As part of the programme, the State AAP unit on Saturday launched ACE (Aam Aadmi Party Citizen Empowerment Programme), and its website.
The party also conducted a round table of citizens groups. AAP State convener Prithvi Reddy said it is an attempt to consolidate AAP’s position in over 5,000 wards in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State. On getting the ground report on the support enjoyed by AAP at the ULB level, the party will decide on fielding the candidates, said Mr. Reddy.
Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi, said that ACE was a specific programme envisaged for day-to-day governance. “It is to provide legal and administrative knowledge to citizens,” he said.
“This is an attempt to take the party to the grassroots level. Party leaders will tour all districts in the State,” Reddy said, adding that AAP had implemented several pro-people projects, and wished to emulate it in other States, including Karnataka..
