Bengaluru: 507 doctors on contract basis announced that they will resign from their jobs today as the state government is not regularising their services.

HY Vishwaradhya, president of the contracted Doctors association informed that the doctors on contract are paid just Rs 45,000 as salary per month whereas the regular doctors are drawing Rs.80,000 per month. “30% of the doctor’s posts are vacant in the state. The government can regularise our services. Still, no action is being taken on our demand. So we are planning our resignation today evening,” he said.

This threat comes amidst reports that COVID 19 is spreading across the state including rural areas.
