Bengaluru: Amid lockdown, the city police arrested as many as 48 drug peddlers and seized a huge quantity of drugs mainly ganja. Many of the arrested are African nationals.

The arrested have been charged under the NDPS Act.

According to the city police, the highest number of arrests were made in the East division which is considered as the IT hub of the city.

“The main target of these drug peddlers are the students and the techies. It is really surprising that when the city was on lockdown, these people are actively pursuing their drug supply,” said police
