Bengaluru: Senior officials of the Health Department rushed to a tiny village in Pandavapura taluk of the Mandya district after 40 residents tested Covid positive.

All these people recently attended the funeral of a local resident.

According to the authorities, Thimmanakoppalu village in Doddabyadarahalli grama panchayat of the district has been sealed down as 40 persons tested positive.

“As per the rules, only 20 persons can attend the funeral. However, last week, when a local resident died all the villagers attended the funeral. It resulted in the cluster outbreak of Covid-19 cases,” informed officials.
