40 journalists receive media academy awards

Bengaluru: As many as 40 journalists from across the State received the annual Karnataka Madhyama Academy Awards-2017 on Wednesday.

Associate Editor of The Hindu Bageshree S. was among the recipients of the award, which was presented on Wednesday at Ambedkar Bhavan in Vasanth Nagar here.

The academy also presented the ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Mookanaayaka Award-2017’ to littérateur Baragur Ramachandrappa.

The other awards presented were: Andolana Award-2017 for Davangere-based newspaper Nagaravaani; Aragini Award-2017 to K.M. Veeresh for best cine reporting; Abhimaani Award-2017 to Rajesh Rai Chatla for writings on social issues, and Mysore Diganta Award-2017 to Kalaavida Vishnu for his human interest article.
