
Bengaluru: A survey carried out by the State Education Department revealed that over 31 lakh students don’t have a smart phone at home. The survey also pointed out that 8 lakh students don’t have access to TV at their homes due to poverty.
The survey covered 93,01,8055 students studying between class I and X in the academic year 2020-21. According to the survey report, most of the students who don’t have mobile phones are government school children. In all 37,79,965 students informed that they don’t have access to the internet. Only 4,88,826 students were found using the email facility.
According to the report, as over 8 lakh students don’t have TV sets at their homes, TV classes also didn’t reach them.
According to the authorities, based on this survey findings now the State Government is planning to provide smart phones for the poor to ensure that their kids will able to get access to the online classes.
