Bengaluru: Karnataka, on Wednesday, June 3, reported 267 new COVID-19 positive cases and one death, taking the state’s tallly to 4,063 and death toll to 53.
As many as 111 people were discharged in the last 24 hours.
The death has been reported from the Davanagere district. Patient 3861, an 80-year-old woman was a contact of Patient 2415. She had a fever, cough and breathlessness on May 28. She was brought dead to the designated hospital on May 29. Her test results came back positive for the novel coronavirus today.
Meanwhile, the Kalaburagi district reported the highest number of cases today with 105 new infections, followed by Udupi with 62 cases.
The break-up of the rest of the districts are: Raichur (35), Bengaluru Urban (20), Mandya (13), Yadagir (9), Vijayapura (6), Davanagere (3), Dakshina Kannada (2), Mysuru (2), Shivamogga (2), Bagalkot (2), Kolar (2), Hassan (1), Ballari (1), Dharwad (1), and Bengaluru Rural (1).
Once again, most of the new patients are Maharashtra returnees.
As many as 16 people are being treated in ICUs across the state. There are a total of 2,494 active cases in the state as on June 3.
