Bengaluru: Karnataka government issued a notice on Friday April 23 stating that hospitals should not compel patients to provide negative RT-PCR results for getting them admitted into hospitals for non-covid reasons, if there are no symptoms of Covid.
The notice said that it has been observed that some hospitals are demanding covid negative certificates for the admission of patients, which is causing delay in the treatment of non-covid related ailments which is a great negligence on the part of hospitals.
Furthermore, it said that covid test shall be mandated in case of any invasive procedures after admission. Hospitals and laboratories should ensure that there is strict social distancing and provide separate ques for pregnant women and senior citizens.
It said that strict action will be taken against the hospitals and laboratories that do not follow the covid guidelines and the above-mentioned directions given by the state government.
