Bengaluru: Urging police officials to cancel their plans of mass leave on June 4, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Saturday that the State government will consider hiking policemen’s salary on par with some other states during revision of next pay commission.

He stated that policeman do not enjoy right to protest. He said, “These are not the demands of an organization or a union within the department. It is not allowed any way, but we have taken note of the demands.”
Large numbers of policemen led by an organisation ‘Akhila Karnataka Police Maha Sangha’ are reportedly going on mass leave on June 4 in protest against alleged harassment, lesser pay and no proper leave. The founder president of V Shashidhar, is a suspended police personnel.
Parameshwara said that that the State government has initiated many welfare schemes like health schemes, free education and housing schemes which includes apartment system which costs Rs 15 lakh per unit.
On the alleged harassment from senior police officials Parameshwara said that government has earlier taken action and will continue to do so.
He also said that the State government would be taking action against those who are provoking the policemen to go on mass leave.
