Vijayapura: Hinting at the possible Cabinet expansion, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that he would be soon visiting Delhi to meet the party’s Central leaders on this issue.

Speaking to mediapersons after offering ‘Bagina’ to Krishna at Almatti dam on Friday September 30, he said that shortly he would be leaving for Delhi to discuss this issue with the party leaders.

On the Union Government banning the Popular Front of India for five years, he claimed that even the Congress had demanded the banning of the outfit. “The Congress had raised this issue, inside and outside the Assembly. The BJP governyment has finally taken a good decision which has been welcomed by many,” he said.

On the demand of a few leaders of the Opposition to ban RSS, Bommai described RSS as the nationalist organisation and it should not be compared with the anti-national outfit such as the PFI.

“It is the foolishness of Leader of the Opposition, Siddaramaiah who is drawing comparison between both the organisations”, he replied.

With regard to increasing the height of Almatti dam from 519 metres to 524 metres, he said that it is the goal of the party to meet this demand. He said that since the matter of Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal is before the court, he hoped that soon the matter would be sorted out.

“Soon after the Central Government issuing gazette notification, we will take steps to increase the height of the dam in order to make use of the additional allocation of water for the irrigation purpose of the State”, the CM said.

Later addressing the mediapersons at Sainik School Helipad, Bommai reacted sharply to the Bharat Jodo campaign of the Congress.

He accused the Congress of bifurcating the nation in order to form Pakistan and has now launched a campaign to unite the nation.
