Vijayapura: A 35-year-old woman from the Vijayapura district tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 6 evening.

As per the evening bulletin released by the state health department, the woman, who has been designated as Patient 693, is a contact of Patient 221. She has been admitted at a designated hospital in the district.

Earlier in the day, 19 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus. As many as 13 of the cases were reported from Badami in the Bagalkot district.

The state’s tally now stands at 693, which includes 29 deaths, one non-COVID caused death and 354 discharges.
