Vijayapura: An earthquake like incident was felt in the City on evening of Thursday January 12. However, the District Administration has denied that it is earthquake.

At around 5.56 pm on Thursday, the tremors were felt in Jalanagara, Keerthi Nagar, K. K. Colony, S. R. Colony, HUDCO, Ibrahimpura and other parts of the City.

According to the District Administration, there is no record of an earthquake in the District. On the other hand, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Unit has confirmed that there was an earthquake.
